Adafruit just released a how-to for building your own solar charger for Li-Polyum batteries using one of our 2.0 Watt panels, a Li-Polymer battery pack, Li-Poly battery charger circuit and of course a Minty Boost. You’ll be able to build your powerful charger in about an hour or less. All the parts are available from Adafruit.

We think the Li-Poly charger is quite cool for DIY projects because it gives a lot of information about its progress, you don’t have to guess. There’s an LED for power, charging status and charge complete.
If you’re feeling lazy, you can also build something similar by connecting our USB Battery Pack to our 2.0 Watt Panel with the Mini USB circuit box. You could even splice a MiniUSB head on the solar panel cable to make a direct connection between the panel and the battery.
