After Hurricane Sandy struck New York last year, Voltaic ran a program to provide light and cellphone charging systems to individuals in the Rockaways. One of the best organized groups was smallwater on B96th Street. Michelle Cortez from smallwater called us recently to tell us the same kits that we provided last year were now being reused in the Philippines. Along with water filters, the solar chargers were the most requested items from the team in the Philippines.
